THE OPPORTUNITY

Yeti has promoted the artist tumbler series for the past 4 years. Each year a new artist has the opportunity to hand embellish 40 unique Yeti Rambler Tumblers, and they are then sold at a local store with proceeds going to charity.

THE SOLUTION

We wanted to highlight how this project could be more than just a few illustrations on tumblers. By first creating an illustrative system of Colorado-local plants and animals, we were able to use modular lockups that easily adapt to vertical, square or horizontal compositions. Utilizing the Yeti brand tagline, “Built for the Wild” as a focal point, our quirky illustrations represent the coalescence of humanity and nature, and the tattoo-flash sheet execution allows for versatility, flexibility and unlimited application.

With 5 different color palettes, our artist series was intended to appeal to a larger audience. As with most of our brand-focused initiatives, this project was built with scalability and application in mind: the vast set of illustrative assets and modular compositions allows for ease of breaking apart and building new layouts for marketing collateral and merchandise.

With 3 different illustration compositions and 5 color-ways, we had 15 unique Yeti tumbler designs, each of which was slightly different due to the beautiful imperfections caused by being drawn by hand.

Further Application and Merchandising

The only intended application for our illustrations was these unique tumblers; however, we took it a step further to highlight the potential of this artist series collaboration.

Exterior vinyl graphics and various merchandise and apparel applications are just a small taste of how this yeti artist series could ultimately come to life at retail.
