In 2018, Vicarel Studios had the opportunity torebrand and reposition Native Roots, Colorado’s largest cannabis dispensary.
This new and improved copper-plate style logotype with its tall, condensed forms served as a beautiful foundation for a sophisticated yet approachable typeface with timeless inspiration.
Looking for a typeface inspired by vintage whiskey label fonts or cannabis branding? We got you covered!
While our inspirations are rooted in vintage whiskey fonts, Whiskey Joint comes and styles suited well for premium cannabis brands, bourbon or whiskey labels, and so much more.
Whiskey Joint font comes in four enduring and classic styles: regular, outline, worn and worn outline give aesthetic diversity—perfect for styling logotypes, labels, invitations, stationary, branding, and apparel for liquor brands, coffee shops, cannabis dispensaries and more. This font, inspired by the look and feel of whiskey and weed adds an effortlessly vintage touch that pairs oh so nicely with just about any project.
There was just enough variation in the letters AEINORSTV of the Native Roots logotype to create a solid A–Z rough draft in a 30-40 minute speed round. From there, we took our sweet time to take notes and consider the nuances of each character. Referencing other typefaces (such as Copperplate) as well as classic whiskey labels made it easier to harness the vintage look and feel we were aiming to achieve. Using templates for letters that share similar widths (BELFPRS / MW / OCDGQ / HAVNTUXZ) also helped us ensure that the whole system felt visually consistent.
If you’re looking for a whiskey font for your next liquor label design, Whiskey Joint has you covered. But you’re not limited! If you’re trying to find the perfect cannabis font or marijuana font for your next dispensary logo, Whiskey Joint is your hero! This typeface is a versatile workhorse that’s perfect for your next design project.
As always, our favorite Adobe Illustrator pluginFontself made it oh so easy to build out our first 4-style font family.
